The PlayStation 4 has won a range of accolades for Sony over the past few years, many of these tied to the high-quality single-player titles that have hit shelves over the past few years.

And wouldn’t another massive exclusive PS4 game help sell both the PS4, PS4 Pro and any potential future console?

Not only have the PlayStation Slim and PS4 Pro range sold well but they have also featured top exclusive titles too.

Some of these have managed to win GOTY awards, including God of War, which will remain a PlayStation exclusive in the future.

And new PS4 news this week suggests we might have another massive title coming our way in the future.

It may seem a little early to start building hype around, but a popular development team has just revealed some great news for gamers.

From Software, the makers of Darks Souls and Bloodborne, have two unannounced games in the works.

Studio boss Hidetaka Miyazaki revealed the big update in an interview with 4Gamer, suggesting that something big is in the works.

“While it isn’t the time to discuss details, they’re both [From Software]-esque games,” Miyazaki said.

“We’ll need a little more time, but we’ll be able to tell everyone more about them once they take shape.”

Fans are hoping that one of these mystery projects will be Bloodborne 2, a project that has been rumoured for some time.

The game won a legion of fans on the PlayStation 4 following its release and has even been made available through PlayStation Plus.

So it’s fair to say that there is plenty of appetite for a sequel to be announced.

The developer recently launched a new PlayStation VR game called Deracine, which many fans believe contains a big teaser for Bloodborne 2.

Deracine features an item referred to as the Fiona Doll, which contains an interesting nod to Bloodborne.

The item description reads: “A doll of the stone girl Fiona, who appears in the unfinished tale.

“When a person has a bad dream, Fiona appears and helps them flee.”

The doll is also performing the ‘Make Contact’ gesture, which suggests that the Bloodborne tale isn’t over.

All this talk of a Bloodborne sequel will remain speculation for now but there’s no doubt it would be a huge seller both in software and hardware if it was revealed for the PS4.

Uncharted 4 is reported to be one of the best selling first-party titles of this generation for PlayStation.

And while GTA 5 is unlikely to be unseated by any other titles this generation, Bloodborne 2 could have a good go at becoming a best-selling PS4 exclusive.

It follows news that Sony PlayStation will face fresh competition from Microsoft’s Xbox brand in 2019.

While many expected new consoles to be announced by both company’s next year, Microsoft may have a surprise in store for fans.

According to new reports, the tech giant is planning to launch a new Xbox One console.

This won’t be an upgrade on the Xbox One X, but will instead offer gamers something a little different.

A new Xbox One console which will be released without a disc drive, providing a digital-only experience.

This is expected to be launched next year and will be paired with a new way of switching physical games over to digital.

It’s also reported that this new Xbox console will be much cheaper than current models.

A drop in price would provide a big boost to Microsoft before they look to the future.

An Xbox Two is expected to be revealed as well, although a date for this to occur has yet to be leaked.

Many analysts believe the next generation of console gaming will kick off in 2020, meaning 2019 could be a crunch year for PS4 and Xbox One.
